Do your know your rights as a Ph.D. candidate in the Netherlands? Join the ‘Know Your Rights’ workshop on Thursday, September 22nd from 16:00-17:30 (on the Woudstein campus and online) to learn the ins and outs of PhD contracts, rights, labour representation, and more.
During the workshop, representatives from the Promovendi Netwerk Nederland (PhD Network Netherlands) will cover the rights of different categories of PhDs (employed, scholarship, and external) pursuing a degree at a Dutch university or medical center. The workshop will focus on the rights associated with the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO), which is relevant for employed PhDs. The session will also cover hospitality agreements and contracts for external and scholarship PhDs.
In addition, Erasmus University Rotterdam’s representative from the General Union of Education (Algeme Onderwijsbond) will briefly discuss the role of unions in representing the labour rights of PhDs.
This workshop is open to all PhDs at Erasmus University Rotterdam and the Erasmus Medical Center. We encourage PhDs at all stages of their trajectory to join. Master’s students and others interested in pursuing a PhD are also welcome.
Register using the form below by Monday, September 12. We hope to see you there!*
*Beverages and snacks will be provided during and after the in-person session. Participants are also encouraged to connect with the speakers and their PhD colleagues after the workshop.
