Samenweten wants to promote the dialogue between science and society and to encourage people to ask scientists more questions. That is why we organise workshops for young scientists in every field. During the workshop we will look at how you can involve society in your research. You will also talk to six panel members and carry out various practical assignments.
Upcoming workshop, in Dutch, will take place online on Friday 2 and Friday 16 October from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

This year’s edition is titled ‘Breaking walls, building stories’: getting over the wall between academia and industry can seem a daunting task. If we want to convince companies of the capabilities of PhD researchers, we have to break down this wall and build bridges instead.
New to this year’s Job Fair is the CV contest. Your task? Select a company of your choosing and draft a CV to promote yourself specifically for this company and/or function. During the full-day programme you learn the ins and outs of what it is like to work as a consultant in Health Care. PhD graduates who work as Gupta strategists share their experiences (PhD’s with different background). Together you work on a business case indicative of the kind of challenges they tackle in their work. The day ends with a dinner, the location is Utrecht. Spoken language is Dutch.

Admission is completely free for PhD candidates and registration will run until the 15th of September. The day starts at 10:00 AM, with the official opening at 11:00 AM, followed by the keynote speeches. The afternoon is reserved for 12 workshops, divided over three rounds. We will end the day with the Supervisor Award and drinks. Please study the graphic below carefully to see which workshops you want to register for. You can only choose one workshop per round. Once registered, you cannot switch between workshops. All the information about the workshops can be found on the website and on our Facebook page throughout the registration period.
